Rodriguez reacts to ‘important win’

7 January 2018

JAY Rodriguez was pleased to see Albion execute their gameplan and strike early against Exeter City on Saturday.

Salomon Rondon silenced the St James Park crowd within 90 seconds after firing into the top corner from the edge of the penalty area.

Rodriguez then went on to add a second goal for the Baggies as they dampened the spirt of the high-flying League Two outfit.

And the Albion forward was happy to see his team-mates record a vital victory.

He said: “It’s obviously nice to get the victory given the run that we have been on.

“It’s important to get the win and it’s a nice feeling.

“It’s a difficult place to come and we knew what we had to do.

“We were after a quick goal and we got one thankfully which took the pressure off us a little bit.

“We were clinical at times and could’ve gone on to get a few more goals.

“We have to kick on from this performance now and get that Premier League win that we are all after.”
