Barry on dressing room positivity

GARETH Barry is happy to have that “winning feeling” back in the dressing room ahead of an important game against Brighton.

The midfielder completed 90 minutes for the Baggies as they beat Exeter 2-0 in the FA Cup third round at the weekend, and Barry hopes it will be just what his side need going into Saturday’s clash at The Hawthorns.

“The main thing was getting in the hat for the next round, but it also gives us that winning feeling in the dressing room that we’ve obviously not had for a while,” he said.

“It’s something to build on. Next it’s a massive game against Brighton and we want to take the positives and that feeling of winning a football match into the weekend.”

Barry also believes that Albion have what it takes to push themselves up the Premier League table over the next 16 games, starting with a result against his former team.

“We’re confident we can get out of it. We’ve definitely got the players in the squad for that,” he added.

“I think the big thing is winning games at home. We need our fans behind us, and Brighton at home is no better place to start.

“It was nice to go and play them at the start of the season because I’ve not been back since I was a schoolboy, but that is it really.

“We need to beat Brighton and I won’t be thinking about anything other than that.”
