‘We’ve got 12 big games left’ - Brunt

CHRIS Brunt believes Albion still have what it takes to stay in the Premier League despite a narrow defeat at home to Southampton.

“We have got 12 big games left and obviously we need to win as many as we can,” said the Northern Irishman.

“Southampton, credit to them they played well. It was definitely a six-pointer and they played better on the day than we did.

“We’ve given ourselves a bit of a mountain to climb now but hopefully we can get a few bodies back this week and get out on the training pitch.

“All the lads that have played a lot of games over the December/January period can have a bit of a rest as well because we don’t play until next Monday night.

“There was a big crowd here today and the atmosphere was good, as it was for the Brighton game before, but we just couldn't match the standard we set against Brighton.

“The stuff before the game was a nice tribute to Cyrille, who was a great man and an icon for the football club.

“It’s just unfortunate we couldn't get a result and give him the right send off.”
