Fitzwater scores for Saddlers

JACK Fitzwater scored his first goal for Walsall on Saturday.

The young defender volleyed home a consolation for the Saddlers as they fell to a 2-1 home defeat to promotion-chasing Blackburn Rovers.

Fitzwater also completed 90 minutes for the League One side at the Banks’s Stadium.

Kane Wilson picked up a second yellow card in the 80th minute of Exeter City’s trip to Grimsby Town.

Despite the young full-back’s late dismissal, the Grecians managed to hold on to their 1-0 lead and claim three important points.

Kyle Edwards was an unused substitute for Exeter at Blundell Park.

Defender Kyle Howkins completed 90 minutes for Port Vale who drew 0-0 with Newport County at Vale Park, while elsewhere in the same division, Tahvon Campbell was an unused sub as his Forest Green Rovers side recorded a 2-0 victory at home to Crawley Town.

Up in Scotland and the SPFL, Max Melbourne remained on the bench for Ross County who lost 2-0 at St. Johnstone.

Irish defender Dara O’Shea helped Hereford FC extend their lead at the top of the Evo-Stik Southern Premier table to seven points.

The youngster completed 90 minutes as the Bulls secured a 2-0 victory over Weymouth at Edgar Street.

Finally, goalkeeper Ethan Ross’ Redditch United suffered a 1-0 reverse at Biggleswade Town in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier.
