ALBION fans will next week have the chance to view the paintings of Tai Shan Schierenberg featured in Channel 4’s recent “Artist in Residence” programme.
The acclaimed documentary told the story of Tai's journey from football novice to devoted Baggies fan during the sometimes turbulent events of last season.
It inspired artwork which was unveiled in the closing sequences and now Baggies fans can enjoy the opportunity to see the work close up.
We will be staging a two-day exhibition on Thursday, August 30 and Friday, August 31 of all nine paintings at The Hawthorns.
Entry will be free of charge and opening times will be 10am-7pm for each of the two days. The exhibition will be staged in the Millichip Suite.
The programme was made as a result of a collaboration between the Club and Storyvault, an independent film production company, which was agreed in the summer of 2017.
Tai won joint first prize in the National Portrait Gallery's John Player Portrait Award in 1989, and the National Portrait Gallery now holds his portraits of Lord Carrington from 1994, Lord Sainsbury from 2002 and most recently Seamus Heaney from 2004. He has also executed the commission for a double portrait of the Royal Couple.
His paintings can be seen at the Flowers East gallery in London.
