Newcastle United v Albion match preview

ALBION travel up to the north east this Saturday to take on Newcastle United at St James’ Park (ko 3pm).

The opposition

Newcastle currently sit 10th in the Premier League table, having accumulated 41 points from their 34 games so far this season.

Rafa Benitez’s side have won four of their last five matches and all but secured safety with a 2-1 triumph over Arsenal the weekend before last.

Their most recent outing, however, was a 1-0 defeat at Everton on Monday night.

Last time out

Our last meeting with Newcastle was a 2-2 draw at The Hawthorns under Gary Megson’s temporary charge back in November.

The game saw strikes from Hal Robson-Kanu and Sam Field put Albion two ahead before Ciaran Clark’s header and a Jonny Evans own goal meant the points were shared.
