Pulis talks Evans, Chadli and our trip to Brighton

8 September 2017

TONY Pulis looks ahead to Albion's first visit to the Amex Stadium on Saturday (ko 3pm). And the Baggies boss also opens up about the summer transfer window, Jonny Evans and Nacer Chadli.

On the summer transfer window...

We've brought a few players in. The competition we've got is the best it's been.

The disappointing thing is that they've not come into the group as a group - everybody's been spread around with international duty.

They've trained together for the first time today. It'll be nice when they have a full week together so they understand what we do and what we're trying to achieve.

On Jonny Evans...

Jonny's had three weeks of non-stop speculation.

We've had a look at him in training after he played two games in quick succession for Northern Ireland.

But Dawson and Hegazi have done very well in the four games they've played.

It was only a mistake that cost us a goal.

On Nacer Chadli...

What we need to do is start taking more of our chances.

Nacer was a very good signing for us last season but got an injury and never really recovered.

But even when he wasn't 100% at it he was still capable of creating chances and scoring goals.

We need him back fit and fully focused.

On our trip to the Amex Stadium...

I've watched Brighton a couple of times and although they've lost games they haven't been far short of winning them.

They hit the post a couple of times against Watford and they're a good side.

They've got a full compliment of players and they've got players in every position that will make them competitive.

We know it'll be a tough game.
