Leicester 1 Albion 1 match highlights

NACER Chadli's stunning second-half free-kick was not enough to seal victory as Albion were pegged back to a 1-1 draw at Leicester City.

The Belgium international, making his first Premier League appearance of the season, fired home a 30-yard set-piece just after the hour mark at the King Power Stadium.

But Riyad Mahrez struck in the 80th minute, smashing home from inside the penalty area, to ensure both sides shared the spoils.

The point extends Albion's unbeaten record at the King Power to eight matches and moves them back into the top half of the Premier League on 10 points from eight matches.

Tony Pulis made three changes from the side held late on against Watford before the international break - Boaz Myhill making his first league start for 18 months in place of the injured Ben Foster, Chadli and Jake Livermore also replacing Matt Phillips and Chris Brunt.

It was Chadli who volleyed a half-chance into the ground for the Baggies early on while Myhill was called upon to parry Danny Simpson's powerful drive with just over half an hour on the clock.

A frantic start to the second half saw Myhill booked for a clash with Jamie Vardy on the edge of the penalty area - forcing him to battle through the remainder of the encounter in pain - before Craig Dawson poked away Harry Maguire's back-post header.

Just minutes later Mahrez wasted the clearest chance of the opening 50 minutes as he blasted over in space 10 yards out.

And the Foxes were made to pay as Chadli broke the deadlock with a superb free-kick from distance in the 63rd minute.

His strike looked to be the difference between the two sides until Albion were pegged back by the 2015/16 Premier League champions 10 minutes from time when Mahrez fired home from 12 yards out.

ALBION: Myhill, Dawson, Hegazi, Evans, Gibbs, Krychowiak, Livermore, Barry, Rodriguez (McAuley 84), Chadli (McClean 84), Rondon.

Subs: Palmer, Nyom, Yacob, Brunt, Phillips.
