Field: The more years I can spend here the better

BOYHOOD Baggie Sam Field has expressed his delight at committing his future to Albion until 2021.

The youngster has penned new-and-improved terms at The Hawthorns and told WBA TV that he's 'honoured' to represent the club he's supported all his life.

"It's always an honour to play for West Brom so to get another year is just fantastic," smiled Sam.

"The more years I can spend here the better. I'm dead chuffed!"

It comes as no surprise that the decision to commit his future to Albion was an easy one for the former season-ticket holder.

"It wasn't one that I took much time to dwell over. I'm delighted to get it done and sorted now.

"I've been here since I was seven. The dream has always been to play in the First Team and hopefully over the next couple of years I get to do so more and more."

And Sam says his next target is to get as many minutes on the pitch as possible.

"To start playing regularly now is the next stage of my development.

"I've had two games at the start of this season and we managed to win them both which is brilliant.

"Hopefully I can get a run towards the end of the season. If not it might be going on loan, getting some games and more experience.

"Hopefully in the years to come it's fighting for a regular spot in the team."
