Deal runs until end of 2017/18 season
WEST Bromwich Albion Football Club and leading Forex company IGOFX have today announced a partnership that will run until the end of the 2017/18 season. Albion players Darren Fletcher, Jonny Evans, and Jake Livermore were all present as the partnership was announced at the Club’s training ground.
The Forex trading company, which operates in the trading of currencies on a global level, will become the Official Forex Partner of West Bromwich Albion Football Club in Asia. The partnership, which was brokered by leading sports agency SportQuake, will see IGOFX benefit from Club IP rights, hospitality and also player access for IGOFX promotional activity.
The Asian-facing partnership shows the growing appeal of the Club and the Premier League in Asia. After becoming the first European football club to tour China in 1978, West Bromwich Albion also hosted China’s first ever game in the United Kingdom at The Hawthorns in 1979. The Premier League was the most viewed league across Asia last season, with an audience of over 800m, and has a strong social media presence, with more than 54% of Premier League clubs’ social followers coming from Asia. West Bromwich Albion’s followers on Chinese social media platform, Sina Weibo, totalled more than 160,000 over the course of the last year.
