WBAFCB shoot for the Ball Out 3x3 finals

WEST Bromwich Albion Basketball Club under-18s have reached the national finals of the Ball Out 3x3 Championships after tasting success in the regionals.

"I'm really pleased with the progress of the team," said Clive Allen, Basketball Coordinator for The Albion Foundation.

"They've just started playing together and this makes all of the hard work worthwhile."

The tournament offers a variation on the regular 5v5 basketball games, as Julius Joseph, tournament organiser, explained.

"It's playing half-court three-on-three basketball.

"It's a faster-paced game, you play with a smaller basketball to try and speed up the game."

WBAFCB reached the nationals, despite losing the final of the regional qualifiers 15-9 against Ballers Elite.

"I feel disappointed because I feel we could have won that game," stated WBAFCB under-18s' Shadab Ratasaf.

"We played good defence but I feel we were just missing easy layups around the basket and that's caused our downfall."

The side now head to London on August 12 in an effort to be crowned Ball Out champions.
