Rodriguez ready for big week

JAY Rodriguez is adamant Albion will soon get back to winning ways if they continue to play as they did in today’s 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace.

The Baggies fired 20 shots - their best return of the season - at Eagles keeper Julian Speroni but were unable to break the deadlock at The Hawthorns.

And Rodriguez says his team-mates are looking forward to a full week of training with new Head Coach Alan Pardew in the lead up to Saturday’s fixture at Swansea City.

“It’s disappointing that we didn’t get the win but we’ll take positives from the game and the way we played,” said the 28-year-old striker.

“We just need a little bit of luck or a little bit of quality to get the ball in the net.

“It’s a good start and we’ve got a big week ahead.

“It will be a lot of hard work and hopefully we get a win [at Swansea on Saturday].

“If we carry on doing what we’re doing at the moment I’m very confident the outcome will be positive.

“I think we pressed higher and we really went for Crystal Palace and overwhelmed them at times.

“The lads can’t wait [to train all week with Alan Pardew].

“We’ll get in and keep working hard. It’s down to work and working towards Swansea which we know is important - we just want the three points.”
