Barry relishing Hawthorns bow

GARETH Barry is looking forward to being on the friendly side of a "tough atmosphere" for the first time when he makes his Albion home debut.

Speaking for the first time as a Baggie to WBA TV, Barry said he's fully aware of the role the Hawthorns faithful play in spurring on their side.

"I've been lucky enough to play many games at The Hawthorns.

"I've always found it a tough game. When the fans are up for it they make it a tough atmosphere and help their team.

"I'm looking forward to being on the other side of that and them cheering me on!"

But for now all the focus is on Albion's first away game of the season.

Tony Pulis' side travel to Turf Moor to take on Burnley on Saturday. And our new recruit is excited to link up with his new teammates and hit the ground running in the new Premier League season.

"I know a few of the boys quite well.

"I knew I was coming into a good dressing room and I'm going to try and add a winning mentality to that.

"We're all in this to win games. The Premier League is one of the toughest around and you have lots of ups and downs. I just want to try and help the group."
