Under-18s edged out by Manchester United in eight-goal thriller

Baggies beaten 5-3 by Reds

ALBION’s Under-18 side were involved in an eight-goal thriller at Manchester United on Saturday morning, but found themselves on the wrong side of a 5-3 scoreline.

The Baggies were ahead inside the opening 10 minutes when Evan Pierce tapped home at the back post following great work down the left from Taylor Morrison.

United came back strongly though and scored three times to take a comfortable lead into the break.

Albion’s youngsters were undeterred and managed to fight back to 3-3 thanks to close range efforts from Rayhaan Tulloch and Rekeem Harper.

But unfortunately for Jamie Smith’s men the hosts then struck twice late on to steal the three points and end their unbeaten start to season.

ALBION: House, Wilding, Piggott, Artymatas, Melbourne, Dool, Harper, Tulloch, Bradley, Morrison, Pierce.
