Shan hails magnificent performance

Baggies PL2 boss pleased with 5-2 win

JAMES Shan was full of praise for Albion’s Premier League 2 side as they beat Aston Villa in a thrilling encounter at the Banks’s Stadium.

The Baggies scored five, including a brace from Tahvon Campbell, and Shan was happy with his team’s performance going forward.

“In the past we’ve not been clinical enough in the final third but tonight we were a constant threat in that area of the pitch.

“To score five goals, play in the manner that we did and dominate the game is magnificent,” said Shan.

And the Baggies boss had a special mention for Campbell, who scored Albion’s fourth and fifth goals.

“I thought Tahvon was very good. He works hard and his movement is bright.

“He gives you a different dimension up front because he can do a little bit of everything.”

Shan was equally impressed with Chris Brunt, Callum McManaman and Allan Nyom as they dropped down from the first team to feature in the derby.

“We’re a fortunate football club because when the senior pros come into the PL2 games they always apply themselves in the right way.

“It’s huge for the youngsters to be able to play with such experienced players and it was great to see Brunty back on the pitch.”

Shan’s side have now won three out of their last four league games and play Stoke City at The Hawthorns next Monday.
