WHAT DID HE SAY?: Pep Guardiola

City boss looks forward to Albion visit

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola held his pre-Albion press conference on Friday afternoon. Here’s what he had to say.

ON ALBION:

“I saw their games against Tottenham and Liverpool and I realise how tough it will be.

“They will be very high pressing and after that they recover the ball. They defend low, they are very compact with very good movement, good on the counter-attack, and they are vey strong on set pieces.

“They use this style marvellously, perfectly. We have to adapt in that way because when we have the ball, they are going to adapt to us”.

ON CITY’S FORM:

“Many things have changed in the last six games. In the beginning we were winning and now we are not. But we are fighting, like we were in the beginning.

“Many circumstances did not help. First of all, our performance was not good enough to win games. Maybe this situation will make us stronger for the future. I’m pretty sure of that. Maybe we will learn from that and be stronger”.

ON INJURIES:

“Kevin de Bruyne and Pablo Zabaleta are getting better. I can’t answer if they will be available yet. Vincent Kompany could not play in the second half [against Manchester United last Wednesday]. We want to take care and save all the players”.
