Powerchair team set for Champions League

Albion PWCH prepare for Europe

ALBION's Powerchair team are preparing to represent England in the European Powerchair Football Association Champions League later this month.

The competition, hosted by Denmark, is the equivalent of the UEFA Champions League and will take place over six days between 15th and 21st October with ten teams vying for the title.

It is the third time that the Baggies have progressed to this stage of the competition, with the side's last appearance coming in 2013 where they finished in third place.

And after winning 17 of their 22 fixtures over the course of the domestic season, The Albion Foundation's Senior Disability Officer, Paul Hunt, believes the team are ready for the European challenge.

"It's a fantastic achievement for the team to reach the Champions League for the third time.

"It promises to be one of the most fiercely contested competitions in recent years.

"A lot of preparation has gone into the tournament from the players so we are eager to get started."
