Albion earn Equality & Diversity award

Breaking down barriers since 1978

BRENDON Batson will be back on The Hawthorns pitch tomorrow to present the Club with an Equality and Diversity award.

Albion’s celebrated former defender will make the presentation of the Intermediate certificate attained from the Premier League following a highly commended presentation earlier this year.

Richard Garlick, who as Director of Football Administration heads the Club’s Equality and Diversity committee, and committee member Darren Moore will receive the award.

Albion’s next target will be to hit the December 2017 deadline to attain the highest Advanced level awarded by the Premier League.

“We are committed in our efforts to ensure that The Hawthorns is a welcoming and warm environment for all and one which promotes equality of opportunity and service,” says Garlick.

Batson will always be remembered for his place in the story of the fight for equality in football and you can watch the video below to see how Albion are using that as inspiration for continuing the progress in the 21st century.
