Myhill pens contract extension

Keeper to remain at The Hawthorns until 2018

ALBION goalkeeper Boaz Myhill has today signed a one-year contract extension at The Hawthorns.

The 33-year-old was previously contracted to the Club until the summer of 2017 and has now committed his future for a further 12 months.

Myhill joined the Baggies in 2010 and has to date made 78 appearances in all competitions.

Head Coach Tony Pulis said: "We're delighted Boaz has agreed a contract extension and we've secured his services for an additional year.

"Boaz is a great professional and he provides good competition for Ben."

Myhill joined Albion from Hull City six years ago having made over 275 appearances for the Tigers.

He spent the 2011/12 season on loan at midlands neighbours Birmingham City but has been an ever-present in the Club's Premier League squad ever since.

Myhill, who signed a new two-year deal last summer, has provided strong competition for Baggies No.1 Ben Foster and proved a more than able deputy when stepping in over recent years.

The stopper made 23 Premier League starts last season, the majority of which over the first half of the campaign as Foster recovered from a knee injury.

His most recent outing was a superb performance in an impressive 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane in April.
