Spurs clinch seven-goal thriller with Albion Under-18s

Dara O’Shea scores screamer

ALBION’s Under-18 side suffered a 4-3 defeat to Tottenham in their opening Barclays U18 Premier League Group Two play-off fixture on Saturday.

The hosts looked as though they would be heading into the break with a 1-0 lead, however centre-back Dara O’Shea unleashed a ferocious drive from 30-yards which flew into the top corner to bring the scores level.

Spurs regained their advantage right at the start of the second-half, but Baggies substitute Marcus Forss equalised shortly past the hour mark when he slotted home from inside the penalty area.

Unfortunately for Aaron Danks’ men, their opponents added two further goals to all but seal victory.

Winger Chay Scrivens pulled one back with less than ten minutes to go, and the Baggies had chances to grab a share of the spoils right at the death but they were unable to take one of their opportunities.

ALBION: Hall, Wilson, Artymatas (Piggott 70), O’Shea, Pritchatt, Melbourne, R.Nabi, Dool, Scrivens, Smith, Pierce (Forss HT).

Unused subs: House, Meredith, Phillips.
