Baggies suffer Birmingham Senior Cup exit

Albion dumped out as Rushall progress into last eight

ALBION suffered a disappointing Birmingham Senior Cup second-round exit on Tuesday night as they were beaten 2-0 at Rushall Olympic.

The Baggies, 2012 and 2014 winners, were undone at Dales Lane as their Evo-Stik Northern Premier League neighbours - managed by former Albion midfielder Richard Sneekes - progressed into the quarter-finals.

Following a first half in which both sides saw goals disallowed for offside, it was the Pics who struck twice after the interval through Gavin Caines (57) and Alex Reid (67).

Rushall now travel to Stratford Town, of the Evo-Stik Southern Premier League, in the last eight of the competition.

ALBION: Palmer, Elbouzedi, Field, Smith, Sweeney, S Nabi, Donnellan, Ezewele, Barbir, Cleet, McCourt.

Subs: Hall, Forss, Artymatas, Scrivens.
