Pulis assesses right-back options ahead of Swansea visit

Craig Dawson to miss Wednesday’s game through suspension

BAGGIES boss Tony Pulis insists he has plenty of options available to fill the void left by the suspended Craig Dawson for the visit of Swansea City on Wednesday night.

The right-back picked up his fifth booking of the season during Sunday’s 1-0 defeat at league leaders Chelsea, ruling him out of The Hawthorns clash with the Swans.

Dawson has been named in Albion’s Premier League starting XI for each of the last 53 matches but Pulis will now be forced into selecting a replacement for the 26-year-old.

Despite the disappointment of losing one of his most trusted players, the head coach is happy to have a healthy number of alternative solutions.

Pulis said: “We’ll miss Daws because he has played exceptionally well for us.

“However, we’ve got to get on with it and we are lucky enough to have options there.

“I’m chewing it over.

“Obviously we have Nyom who can change, we could slot Brunty in, you could play Jonny Evans there, and we could bring Brendan Galloway in.”

Ahead of Albion’s back-to-back home games against Swansea City and Manchester United, Pulis added: “We’ll look at it as we go along.

“There’s no reason I don’t think that players can’t play three games in a week or three games in six days.

“As long as the preparations after the games, as much as anything else, is done properly.”
