Cup exit for U18 side

Ten-man Baggies beaten by Yeovil

ALBION's under-18 side were knocked out of the FA Youth Cup on Tuesday evening after an unfortunate 3-2 defeat to Yeovil Town at The Hawthorns.

The Baggies took the lead in the 18th minute when Evan Pierce headed home after fine work from Jonathan Leko on the left-hand side.

But the hosts were pegged back before half time when Callum Morton slotted past Brad House in the Albion net.

With the game in the balance, captain Max Melbourne was dismissed for bringing down Morton on the edge of the area in the 62nd minute.

And Joe Tomlinson was on hand to blast in the resulting free kick.

The Glovers extended their lead seven minutes later when Paul Akinuli fired home from a corner after it appeared House had been fouled.

But despite a spirited fightback which saw Yeovil 'keeper Kingsley Latham turn the ball into his own net late on, the Baggies couldn't find an equaliser.
