Wright reflects on first Premier League 2 win of 2016/17

Striker scored at Aggborough

ANDRE Wright believes Albion’s Premier League 2 side “really deserved” to collect their first three points of the season against Fulham on Monday night.

The Baggies came back from 1-0 down at half-time to record a 2-1 victory thanks to goals from Wright himself and Tyrell Robinson.

The forward, who spent time with Torquay United on loan last year, was a handful for the two opposing centre-backs throughout the 90 minutes at Aggborough and was delighted with his own display.

“I worked hard and that was key to the way we play,” said Wright.

“It was nice to get a goal as well as the three points.

“I thought that game was tough, especially in the first-half.

“They had a lot of the ball and really tested our tactics which were to sit off and let them have it and I thought we did that well.

“It was about staying patient and letting them have the ball in certain areas, making them think they had options when really they hadn’t.

“It was a case of us being in control without the ball.

“We chose our moments to pick them off.

“The result at Swansea was unlucky but we really deserved this one.”
