ALBION XI: "I have some great memories of these players"

Who would make your favourite all-time Albion XI?

THE eagerly-anticipated return of Game of Thrones was a reminder that, sometimes, good things happen only once a week, and Albion XI is no exception.

Whether it be Jon Snow, Tyrion Lannister or Sansa Stark or, indeed, Tony 'Bomber' Brown, Neil Clement or Ben Foster - everyone has their favourites they enjoy to watch.

Albion's No.1 website feature is certainly creating discussion as Baggies fans come together to select their favourite dream team from down the years, with age no doubt playing a part as fans reflect on who they have most enjoyed grace The Hawthorns.

Week six sees the turn of another supporter who got in touch via social media - with two current players among five Albion XI debutants.

So, the stage is all yours Danny...

Name: Danny Bates
Age: 25
From: Halesowen
Interesting fact: Keeping it football related, I was once awarded the 'Player of the Week' trophy by Albion at a training camp when I was younger. I'm still available, too, Tony if your reading...

"I have watched the Albion for many years now, and I have personally picked a team I would love to see play together and one that would entertain the fans (hopefully).
"Obviously I am too young to have seen The King and players such as Laurie Cunningham, Cyrille Regis and co. So I have gone for something different and picked players I have had the chance to see play football for our club.
"I love to see us play attacking and entertaining football - ball on the floor, possession in their half, simple pass and move. So I have gone for an attacking 3-4-1-2.
"I have some great memories of these players, they have given their all with pride and passion and some very important wins and goals."

Goalkeeper
Ben Foster - A close call between Ben and Russell Hoult. Ben has the ability to make some world-class saves, a great keeper.

Defenders

Craig DawsonSolid defender who works hard.
Gareth McAuleyBig, strong and not scared of a tackle, he wears his heart on his sleeve. He’s better than JT!
Jonas Olsson – Again, big and strong on the ball, been class for many years, he plays where he wants.

Midfielders

Chris Brunt - Club legend, never seen a left foot like it, his power and accuracy has been the best around for many years.
Richard Sneekes – Likes to get the ball down and play attacking football, wasn’t sure on the hair though, sorry Richard ha, ha.
Jonathan Greening – Aka Jesus, as some fans used to call him, always liked to take a player on, sometimes too many times.
Robert Koren – Underrated mastermind of midfield, first touch and control always very good.

Forwards

Jason Koumas - Pick the ball up...take on two players...shoot from 30 yards...top corner! What a talent.
Kevin Phillips – Super Kev - what a finisher! Always cool-headed around the box, knew where the goal was, a great player.
Romelu Lukaku - 17 goals in one season at his age, perfect hat-trick against Manchester United despite coming on at half-time. He’s bigger than a fridge!

Subs
Russell Hoult, Darren Moore, James Morrison, Zoltan Gera, Shane Long.
