Under-18s hold Manchester City

15 September 2015

Rahis Nabi on target

RAHIS Nabi grabbed a second-half equaliser for Albion’s Under-18 side, as they held Manchester City to a 1-1 draw at City Football Academy on Saturday.

The hosts took the lead from the penalty spot in the tenth minute through Isaac Buckley-Ricketts.

However, the youngest Nabi brother on the books at The Hawthorns rescued a point for Baggies in the 57th minute, slotting home from close range after winning the ball back inside City’s half.

Under-18 boss Aaron Danks was satisfied with a share of the spoils.

He said: “We played some very good football at times on Saturday.

“To get a point against a team like City is always very pleasing.

“Maybe if we had been a tad braver and gone for it a little more, we might have nicked all three points.”

ALBION: Hall, Sweeney, O’Shea, Piggott, Melbourne, Field, Nabi, Bradley (Forss 56), Soleman (Dool 83), Scrivens, Wilson.

Unused Subs: Hause, Okoh, Pierce.
