Baggies to travel across the globe

ELEVEN Albion stars will be involved in international action for their nations over the October break.

Jonny Evans, Chris Brunt and Gareth McAuley are part of the Northern Ireland squad hoping to clinch qualification for a major tournament for the first time since 1986.

Michael O’Neill’s side have a European Qualifying double-header, facing Greece at Windsor Park on Thursday (ko 7.45pm) before flying to Helsinki to play Finland on Sunday (ko 5pm).

One win will guarantee their place in France next summer at EURO 2016.

Another home nation requiring just one win to book their spot at EURO 2016 is Wales, who included James Chester in their squad.

Chris Coleman’s men also have a European Qualifying double-header to come.

They travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina on Saturday night (ko 7.45pm), before welcoming Andorra to Cardiff on Tuesday night (ko 7.45pm).

Wales last competed at a major tournament in 1958.

Midfield duo Darren Fletcher and James Morrison have been named In the Scotland squad for their games against Poland and Gibraltar in European Qualifying.

Morrison is banned for the Tartan Army’s home clash against Poland on Thursday night (ko 7.45pm), but should return when his side travel to Gibraltar on Sunday night (ko 7.45pm).

Scotland still have a slim chance of qualifying for EURO 2016, but they must win both games and hope that results go their way elsewhere in Group D.

James McClean is with the Republic of Ireland, who still have a great chance of qualification for EURO 2016.

They take on World champions Germany in Dublin on Thursday night (ko 7.45pm), before travelling to Poland for what could be a winner-takes-all encounter on Sunday night (ko 7.45pm).

Ireland sit third in Group D, two points and one place behind Poland.

They face Paraguay at home in Puerto Ordaz on Thursday night (ko 10pm), before travelling to Fortaleza for a clash against five-time world champions Brazil on Wednesday morning (ko 2am).

Stephane Sessegnon has been called up by Benin.
