Midfielder made first start since April against Sunderland
STEPHANE Sessegnon had two reasons to be cheerful on Saturday evening.
The winger made his first start for the Baggies since April, as they recorded a narrow 1-0 win over his former employers Sunderland at The Hawthorns.
Sessegnon completed the full 90 minutes and produced some exciting bursts down the right-hand side.
Having found first-team action hard to come by in recent months, the Benin international was understandably delighted to be back out on the pitch.
“I was really happy to be back playing,” said Sessegnon.
“It was a tough game against a difficult team who had a new manager.
“I thought we played well and deserved to get the three points.
“To be in the side again was nice and I tried to do my best after working hard to get back in.
“I thought I performed well.
“After getting this victory hopefully we can push on and win more matches.”
