Baggies into second-round of Birmingham Senior Cup

ALBION progressed through to the second-round of the Birmingham Senior Cup with a 2-1 win at Tividale on Tuesday night.

Samir Nabi was the matchwinner for the Baggies against their Black Country neighbours, notching with just 15 minutes to go.

Joe Ward gave the visitors an early lead, smashing a thunderous shot into the back of the net from all of 30-yards.

However the Evo-Stik Division One South outfit hit back with ten minutes remaining in the first-half, Mark Danks curling home a long-range free-kick.

With the tie seemingly heading for extra-time, Nabi stepped up to the plate and slotted home from inside the penalty area to ensure safe passage into the next round.

ALBION: Ross, Fitzwater, Ezewele, Cleet (Field 64), Donnellan, Howkins, Elbouzedi (Scrivens 58), S.Nabi, Pierce (Smith 50), Ward, Edwards.

Unused subs: Hall, Melbourne.
