Halloween treats await Albion fans
LIVE football, live rugby, live music, a funhouse, a marquee, food, beer, candyfloss, face-paints...and the chance to trick some treats out of us for Halloween.
There may be a better place than our Fanzone to enjoy the build-up to Saturday’s big Albion v Leicester City showdown at The Hawthorns.
But, frankly, we doubt it.
Firstly, those treats on offer. A Halloween fancy dress competition is open to all with the winner landing a Mascot Package for one of three upcoming games against either Bournemouth, Stoke or Newcastle.
We’ve also got a football signed by the first team squad and two places on an Albion Foundation Soccer Camp during the February half-term as runners-up prizes.
All you have to do to enter is ... turn up in whatever ghoulish outfit takes your fancy and enjoy the rest of the entertainment on offer.
And what entertainment. Our big screen will be showing live TV football coverage - this week we'll be screening the derby clash between our neighbours Birmingham City and Wolves (12.30pm) - when we open at midday AND then give departing fans the chance to watch the New Zealand v Australia rugby World Cup final.
Another fantastic local band is there to provide the live music – welcome The Tovey Brothers from Solihull who will be on stage for two half-hour sets (1pm and 2pm).
We’ve also got a ‘walkaround’ Funhouse, giant Cups and Saucer ride, candyfloss stall and face paints to keep the kids happy plus the cover of a marquee; the venue is licensed of course and there will also be the usual range of food outlets including the recently-opened on-site Greggs store.
The Halloween Fancy Dress competition will wind down the pre-match programme at 2.45pm in time for you to get into The Hawthorns - and get ready for what promises to be a terrific contest.
** Please look out for the Royal British Legion stand in the Fanzone on Saturday at the starts of the poppy appeal. All contributions will be greatly appreciated.
