Albion U18s battle back to make their point

19 October 2015

Baggies seal share of the spoils against Rams

ALBION staged a second-half fightback to claim a deserved 2-2 draw at Derby in the Barclays Under-18 Premier League on Saturday.

The Baggies found themselves behind to the hosts as early as the 15th minute having failed to clear their lines, Jared Bird sending the ball past Matt Hall.

Matters went from bad to worse just moments before half-time as the Rams doubled their lead courtesy of Kyron Stabana.

But a determined Albion outfit emerged after the break and Marcus Forss reduced the arrears in the 55th minute, poking home from close range after his initial effort from a corner had rebounded off the crossbar.

And it was Rahis Nabi who levelled matters in the 65th minute when he latched on to Sameron Dool's ball over the top and applied a cool finish.

The draw means Albion's U18s have taken nine points from their opening ten matches, with the visit of Everton next up for for Aaron Danks' side.

ALBION: Hall, Sweeney, O'Shea, Fitzwater, Melbourne, R Nabi (Piggott 71), Smith, Dool, Scrivens, Pierce (Roberts 46, Elbouzedi 53), Forss.

Unused subs: Ross, Okoh.
