Winger expressed disappointment after final whistle
GUTTED – that was the mood inside the Baggies dressing room following Saturday’s defeat to Leicester according to Callum McManaman.
The winger expressed his disappointment at the result when speaking to the media after the match.
McManaman replaced Chris Brunt inside the final ten minutes at The Hawthorns and won the penalty which resulted in Rickie Lambert scoring his first goal for the Club.
However it was too little too late as the Foxes held out for a 3-2 win, leaving the 24-year-old and his team-mates frustrated.
“The boys were gutted in the dressing room after the game,” said McManaman.
“The defeat is hard to take after being in front but sadly it wasn’t meant to be.
“Usually when we take the lead we are then difficult to break down.
“Once they score the first goal they grew into the match and their fans got behind them which made it difficult for us.
“We almost grabbed an equaliser at the end but unfortunately it never came.
“We have a massive game next weekend at Manchester United to concentrate on now this week.
“We won there last year so hopefully can do that again.”
