McClean looks ahead to France

17 November 2015

Albion man came on a second-half substitute

JAMES McClean last night became the latest Albion player to book his place at Euro 2016 - after the Republic of Ireland confirmed their qualification with a 2-0 play-off second leg victory over Bosnia-Herzegovina in Dublin.

Jonathan Walters' double ensure a 3-1 aggregate win, which means McClean joins the likes of Gareth McAuley, Chris Brunt, Jonny Evans (all Northern Ireland) and James Chester (Wales) in next summer's championships, which are to be held in France.

McClean, who came on as a second-half substitute, expressed his delight on Twitter.

He tweeted: "Send you a postcard they said, enjoy your holidays they said, watch it on TV they said #france16."
