James Shan wants youngsters to finish season in style

ALBION Under-21s welcome Newcastle United to The Hawthorns on Monday night (ko 7pm) for their final home fixture of the season.

A victory would see Baggies leapfrog their opponents into fourth-place in the Barclays U21 Premier League division two table.

James Shan’s men will also be looking to extend their unbeaten run in the league to four games, after two draws against Stoke and Derby with a comprehensive 3-0 triumph over Arsenal sandwiched in the middle.

And the Under-21 boss has challenged his chargers to finish the season as strongly as possible.

“We obviously want to end the season on a high,” said Shan.

“The lads have been tremendous all season so it would be nice to finish it off with positive results and positives performances.

“Newcastle will provide us with a difficult test.

“They play an exciting brand of football and are very offensive.

“Saying that, we were unlucky not to win up there earlier in the season.”

Admission prices are £5 adults, £1 concessions and free for season ticket holders
