Young squad to tackle Rams on Tuesday night

JAMES Shan has again selected a young squad for Albion’s Under-21 fixture with Derby County at The Hawthorns tonight in the Barclays U21 Premier League (ko 7pm).

Several members of the Under-18 squad have been handed opportunities to play in the Under-21 side in recent weeks.

The youngsters have produced two eye-catching displays, drawing 1-1 at Stoke City before securing a terrific 3-0 win over an Arsenal outfit which included first-team experience.

And the Baggies Under-21 boss says that the clash against the Rams will give the boys another chance to impress ahead of next season.

“I’m really looking forward to the game,” said Shan.

“We have performed brilliantly over the last few weeks and the youngsters that have come into the squad have been excellent.

“The game gives us an opportunity to build on our previous two performances.

“The group are coming together really nicely which is a brilliant sign ahead of next season.

“Every game between now and the end of the season will be key for them, as the more experience they can get, the more accustomed they will become to Under-21 football.”

Admission prices are £5 adults, £1 concessions and free for season ticket holders
