Pics from a memorable night at The Hawthorns
SAIDO Berahino bagged a brace as superb Albion dismantled Barclays Premier League champions Chelsea 3-0 in an action-packed final home encounter of 2014/15 at a buoyant Hawthorns.
The Baggies striker opened the scoring in true style in just the ninth minute before Chelsea were reduced to ten men shortly before the half-hour mark as Cesc Fabregas saw red for kicking the ball at the head of Chris Brunt.
Berahino picked himself up to convert from the penalty spot merely two minutes into the second half having been brought down by John Terry - registering his 20th goal of the season in all competitions and becoming the first Baggies player to do so since Kevin Phillips in 2007/08.
Albion fans were soon in dreamland on the hour mark as Chris Brunt then rifled a superb 20-yard effort past Thibaut Courtois at his near post. The Throstles went on to keep their fourth clean sheet in five unbeaten games and 16th league shut-out of the campaign, a number only bettered by the champions.
It all means Albion - who received warm applause from the home faithful on their post-match lap of appreciation - are guaranteed to finish at least 13th in the table with 44 points currently to their name. But will be setting their sights one place higher ahead of a final-day trip to Arsenal on Sunday.
