Ibrahimovic, Volleyball, Thai restaurants and much more
THIS week we put last Saturday’s match winner, Brown Ideye, under the spotlight.
So, Bobby, what is your favourite…?
Moment in football?
I think I would have to say the game against Borussia Monchengladbach in a UEFA Champions League qualifier, when I was playing at Dynamo Kyiv. I scored the goal that sent us through to the group stages of the tournament. It was a great moment for me.
Goal you have ever scored?
Again, I would have to say the same the goal as the previous question. The one for Kyiv against Monchengladbach, which sent us into the Champions League.
Goal you have ever seen?
Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s overhead kick for Sweden against England back in 2012. That was such an amazing goal.
Game that you have been involved in?
That would be my Barclays Premier League debut for Albion, away at Southampton.
Player of all time?
Zlatan Ibrahimovic. I have played against him a couple of times but I have never managed to get his shirt because all the other players on my team wanted it.
I have never played at Old Trafford, but I can’t wait to play there later in the season with Albion.
Football kit owned as a boy?
My first Adidas top that I had as a boy.
Pair of boots?
Again, the first ever pair of Adidas ones that I had when I was growing up.
World Cup memory?
Last summer’s World Cup, when Nigeria played Argentina. Lionel Messi scored twice, and Argentina won 3-2. Nigeria played really well that day, but Messi won the game for Argentina. It was great to see Nigeria do so well against such a good team, but it was also great to witness Messi at his best.
Childhood memory of football?
When I had to play without shoes back home in Nigeria. I didn’t want my mother to see me going out in shoes, so I had to play football without them. All of the other players had shoes on.
This might seem like a strange answer, but getting arrested when I was younger back home in Nigeria with my friends. It was a big disaster for me. It is funny to laugh about it now, but it was very serious at the time and I have definitely learnt from my mistake!
Lesson at school?
I really enjoyed English.
I love white.
Anything with either rice or pasta in.
I love Italian restaurants and Thai restaurants.
I am not a chocolate lover to be honest.
I love the Big Bang Theory.
Sport other than football?
Volleyball or Basketball.
FIFA 15 on PlayStation. I don’t play regularly so I am not very good.
Thing to do to relax away from football?
There are a lot of ways to relax away from football. I love going out shopping with my family, for me that is the best way to relax.
I love hip-hop, especially Lil Wayne. I will have to say anything of his.
Lil Wayne again. I love his music.
I absolutely love cars. I don’t really have a favourite, I just love good cars.
Book or magazine?
Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s autobiography, “I am Zlatan Ibrahimovic”. I found it really interesting because he mentioned lots of things about what he has been through in life which I can relate to.
Foreign football team?
And finally… your favourite moment in an Albion top?
The turnaround for me after I scored the equaliser at Burnley. I then scored my first goal in the Premier League at The Hawthorns in a 2-0 win against Swansea. Those two moments for me were really special.
