Berahino included in 23-man squad
TONY Pulis believes Saido Berahino's inclusion in the England squad for the UEFA Euro Under-21s Championship is a fitting reward for his 'brilliant' domestic campaign.
The Albion striker, who scored 20 goals during 2014/15, was named in Gareth Southgate's 23-man squad earlier today.
Speaking about the 21-year-old's call-up, Pulis said: "It's a brilliant achievement for Saido.
"I hope he goes out there and has a successful tournament because he thoroughly deserves this recognition.
"To be capped for your country - at any level - is a great honour and achievement.
"This is a fitting end to what was an excellent season for Saido.
"Since I walked through the door he's been a good professional and improved his overall game.
"If you looked at his running stats in our final home game against Chelsea they were absolutely fantastic - never mind the two goals he scored. The kid has gone to a different level in respect of the effort and commitment he is putting in for the team because it is a team game. He has been brilliant this year."
England have been drawn in Group B. They will take on Portugal (June 18), Sweden (June 21) and Italy (June 24). The tournament concludes on June 30.
