Campbell excited for Under-21 tournament test in Brittany

Albion to face top European sides

TAHVON Campbell admits Albion’s Under-21 group is relishing the chance to test themselves against some of Europe’s top teams in the Tournoi Europeen tournament in France.

The striker is part of the 19-man squad which will travel to Brittany on Thursday morning for a five-day tour.

The Baggies face stern opposition in their group from Marseille, Anderlecht and Lorient.

James Shan’s men will then go into a play-off against the team who finish in the same position in the second group, to determine their overall position in the competition.

The forward, who travelled with the senior squad to Austria earlier in pre-season, says the tournament will be a fantastic test for the youngsters.

“We are all really looking forward to heading out France and playing in the tournament.

“The teams that we will be playing against are all top opposition.

“The games will be a fantastic opportunity for us to test ourselves against some of the best players in Europe of a similar age.

“It’s a tournament so we will be doing our best to win it.

“This is a new group that only really started to come together at the end of last season.

“We managed to put a great unbeaten run together then so we want to continue that winning habit in Brittany.”
