Take a behind-the-scenes tour below
WEST Bromwich Albion tonight opened the club’s refurbished Academy on Halfords Lane.
Baggies legend Tony ‘Bomber’ Brown was joined by one of the Academy’s rising stars Tyler Roberts to cut the ribbon before 100 guests toured the revamped facility.
Young Tyler captained the Wales Under-16 team to success in the recent Victory Shield tournament and his appearance alongside the club’s much-celebrated ‘great’ symbolised the enduring message of Albion’s search for home-produced talent.
Albion’s former Sporting & Technical Director Dan Ashworth, who laid the foundations for the Baggies’ Academy development during his time at the club, was among the guests along with first-team captain Chris Brunt.
The redevelopment of the site was the final step in the club being granted EPPP Category One status.
