Under-18s edge past Spurs in five-goal thriller

28 January 2015

Tahvon Campbell (2) and George Cater on target for Baggies

ALBION Under-18 forward Tahvon Campbell struck a late winner as his side claimed a 3-2 victory over Spurs in the Barclays U18 Premier League.

Aaron Danks’ men fell behind after just eight minutes, when Andre Wright turned the ball into his own net following Shayon Harrison’s cross.

However Campbell drew The Baggies level midway through the first-half, with a superb curling effort from the edge of the penalty area.

The hosts then took the lead 11 minutes after the break, George Cater finishing off a flowing move by sweeping his shot into the top corner.

Spurs’ Ryan Loft then made it 2-2 with less than ten minutes to go, tapping home from close range.

But Albion weren’t to be denied all three points, and just two minutes later Campbell raced clear of the visitor’s defence and slotted confidently past Harry Voss.

Albion: Ross, Sweeney, Hallahan, Field, Ezewele, McCourt, Campbell (Smith 90’), S.Nabi, Wright, Elbouzedi, Cater (Miller 74’).
