Berahino attitude noted by Pulis
SAIDO Berahino has wasted no time in trying to impress new head coach Tony Pulis.
The recently-appointed boss has been impressed with the 13-goal striker's application since his arrival.
Indeed Berahino still at the training ground late yesterday afternoon, long after training and Pulis' pre-match press conference had finished.
Pulis believes the player is in a good place, certainly in terms of his application on the pitch.
"I’ve been very, very impressed with his training," said Pulis.
"He’s worked very hard and it's clear he’s technically a very good player. He’s got his whole footballing career in front of him, he’s been given a gift by God and he’s very fortunate.
"The most important thing that he can do is make the most of it. He has to understand and recognise that to be a professional athlete, and a good professional athlete, you have to be disciplined, and that’s most the way our conversations have gone.
"He's been brilliant. He’s been first one in, at that training ground, and last one out. His attitude’s been good.”
Pulis continued: “The thing I noticed about him is that he’s got wonderful balance, and if you look at the top players, they have that – they can shift their feet very quickly and adjust when the ball comes to them, that’s a natural gift he’s got. Obviously he’s very clinical when he gets in front of goal. He’s got a great future in front of him, the most important thing is he recognises and realises he’s been given a gift and he makes the most of that."
