Vidic, Cricket, The Script and so much more
This week we put defensive rock, Craig Dawson, under the spotlight.
So, Daws, what is your favourite…?
Moment in football?
Signing my professional contract at Rochdale because it was just a dream come true. That has to be my favourite moment.
Goal you have ever scored?
I would have to say the goal I scored against Burnley in the 4-0 win earlier this season. It was my first goal in the Barclays Premier League and it was a long time coming. I had been getting a lot of stick for not scoring before that so it was nice to get off the mark.
Goal you have ever seen?
I think I am going to say Wayne Rooney’s overhead kick against Manchester City a few years ago.
Game that you have been involved in?
I would probably say the recent FA Cup game against Birmingham City, the atmosphere was incredible. We put in a great performance and we secured a really good result.
Player of all time?
I’m going to say Nemanja Vidic. I suppose you could say he was my role model growing up, he was such a strong defender.
Football kit owned as a boy?
I had the Manchester United kit when the shirt was grey and black with little spots on it in the 1995-96 season. I didn’t just have the shirt I had the whole kit! I think they only wore it once for 45 minutes and then changed it at half-time.
Pair of boots?
I would have to say any pair of the old Adidas Predators. They were great boots.
World Cup memory?
I’m going to go with watching England beat Germany 5-1 in Germany in 2001. It was only a qualifier but that is my favourite memory of the World Cup.
Childhood memory of football?
Just having a knock about in the park with my mates. We would all finish school and head straight to park, which was always really enjoyable.
I’d have to say the same again really, just playing football with my friends.
Lesson at school?
That’s easy, it has got to be PE.
I like Vimto.
Anything Italian will do for me. I love chicken pasta.
Again, anything Italian.
Not that I eat much chocolate but if I had to say one it would be Snickers.
I really like Mexico, I went a few years ago and it was great.
Any of the Fast and Furious films.
The Big Bang Theory.
Sport other than football?
I’m not really into computer games to be totally honest.
Thing to do to relax away from football?
Just chill out and watch a few movies really.
Anything from The Script.
Again, I am a big fan of The Script so anything of theirs.
I would probably say my first car, a little black Ford Fiesta. You never forget your first car do you!
Book or magazine?
A book called The Secret. I won’t tell you what it is about it is a secret! You will have to find out.
Foreign football team?
And finally… your favourite moment in an Albion top?
I hope I am not repeating myself but scoring my first Premier League goal against Burnley earlier this season. It was great to finally get off the mark.
