Albion head coach pleased with Berahino contributionTONY Pulis claims Saido Berahino's goalscoring contribution that pushed Albion over the 30-point mark was the icing on the cake.
The striker scored a brilliant goal in the second minute to give Albion the victory against Southampton.
But there was concern late on with both Berahino and Brown Ideye limping off with foot and knee injuries respectively.
Pulis will find out tomorrow whether the players will be in contention for the trip to Villa Park on Tuesday.
The Albion head coach said: "It was a wonderful strike, a wonderful goal - there is no question of his talent.
"And in the last few weeks he's brought into what we want to do when we don't have the ball. He worked so hard for us today.
"He's the icing on the cake - the little bit of quality every team needs.
"He was carrying an injury and hadn't trained all week. He needed an injection and Brownie had an injection too. We will see how everyone is tomorrow."
On the actual performance and result, Pulis added: "They changed their team. We didn't realise that until an hour before the game - so we changed ours a little bit too so we effectively had a diamond.
"I was really disappointed they changed their shape back because before that I thought we played well and had some good chances. In the second half we had to dig in. And we did that very well.
"But to get a result today is first class."
