Forwards both on target against Swansea
ALBION skipper Darren Fletcher praised goalscoring duo Brown Ideye and Saido Berahino, after the pair fired The Baggies to a 2-0 success over Swansea at The Hawthorns last night.
Club record-signing Ideye gave Tony Pulis’ men the lead on the hour mark with a smart finish into the bottom corner, and top scorer Berahino smashed home a second 14 minutes later to guarantee all three points.
Scotland international Fletcher believes the deadly double act deserve plenty of credit for their performances.
“They were both fantastic,” said the 31-year-old.
“Their work rate, desire and quality was great.
“The second goal was a perfect strike partnership goal.
“Saido had a really tough shift, he had to drop into midfield and then had to get forward but he did it and never moaned once.
“He got his reward with the goal and his performance deserved that.
“You need to score goals in this league and that responsibility mainly comes down to the strikers, although you want goals from all over the pitch.
“If we can get the service into them I am sure they are going to take their chances.
“It is important for any team that their strikers are scoring goals.”
