Albion’s No. 9 looking for more goals
BROWN Ideye wants his equaliser at Burnley on Sunday afternoon to be the catalyst for more goals in Albion colours.
The forward netted his third of the season at Turf Moor, heading home Chris Brunt’s 67th minute corner as The Baggies came from two goals down to earn a point.
The club’s record signing has found adjusting to life in the Barclays Premier League difficult, since arriving from Dynamo Kyiv in the summer.
But the Nigeria international is confident that his strike against the Clarets will kick-start a purple patch in front of goal.
“I am very happy with the goal because it was an important one for my team,” said the 26-year-old.
“I have been waiting for a moment like that since joining.
“Every striker likes to score goals and every striker wants to score in every game, so I don’t see why it wouldn’t be possible for me to start scoring goals from this moment.
“People believe in me, I came here to score goals and I hope that my goal against Burnley will be the start for me.
“Everyone at the club has been really supportive, but I know that I haven’t been the Brown Ideye that people were expecting and I feel bad about that.
“The fans have been great with me over the past few months, so I have got to keep working hard and hope that the goals will come.”
