Undefeated Under-21s in action at West Ham on Monday

Baggies head for Rush Green

ALBION Under-21 boss James Shan has challenged his side to start turning draws into victories.

The youngsters are unbeaten in the Barclays U21 Premier League division two this season, but they have drawn four of their last six games.

Next up for the Baggies is a trip to Rush Green to face West Ham United on Monday evening (ko 7pm).

Shan’s men, who sit one place and three points behind the leaders Derby County, defeated the Hammers 2-1 back in August and the gaffer is expecting another tight affair.

He said: “We have spoken to the lads about turning these draws into victories and having a winning culture.

“It’s great that we are unbeaten in the league so far this season, but other teams at the top are starting to put winning runs together.

“We have to start winning a few more games in order to keep pace with the teams at the top of the division.

“West Ham were very good when they came to us in August and they had a very senior side out, with the likes of Lanzini playing.

“A few of those who played that day have moved up to the first-team or have gone out on loan, so I’d expect the two teams to be a similar age this time around.

“I have known their coach Terry Westley for a long time and his teams always work very hard.

“They play with a good intensity and it will be a big test for our lads.”
