A celebration of the men who built the Albion
IN November 2015, Chris Brunt clocked up his 300th appearance for the Albion in the game against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
In so doing, he became only the 44th player to reach that milestone in the 137 years since our formation, placing him in the most exalted of company.
To mark that milestone, we’ve collected together the Albion stories of all 44 of our triple centurions in a special book, a cavalcade of the great and the good, spanning the whole of our existence, from soup to nuts.
Starting with Billy Bassett from Albion’s first ever cup winning team in 1888, passing through Pennington and Smith, stalwarts of the title winning team of 1920, through Glidden, WG and Sandford of the 1931 "double diamonds”, past Barlow, Allen and Millard from the “Team of the Century”, on to Kaye, Astle and Brown, the boys of ’68, and beyond to Regis, Cantello, Burgess and Naylor, before we hit the 21st century and find Clement and Brunt.
All the stories, all the stats, all the pictures, all the facts and all the best lines of fiction, we’ve rammed them into “300” until it was groaning beneath the weight.
With an exclusive foreword from Chris Brunt himself, “300" is a celebration of the men who built the Albion.
On their shoulders do we stand…
You can buy “300” at The Hawthorns from Saturday. It’s priced at £4.99 or, if you buy it with the Tottenham match programme at the game, you can have the two for £7.50, a saving of 99p on the pair.
What more do you need to fill somebody's Christmas stocking?
