Youngsters have won two out of two
ALBION Under-21s will be looking to maintain their perfect start to the Barclays U21 Premier League season tonight.
The Baggies host Blackburn Rovers (ko 7pm) in what will be the Club's first Under-21 fixture at The Lamb, home of National League North outfit Tamworth FC.
The youngsters sit joint-top of division two, having tasted two 2-1 victories over Swansea and West Ham respectively.
Under-21 boss James Shan is happy with the 100% record, but insists the performances must improve.
He said: “We are in a development business as well as a results business.
“It’s difficult sometimes to strike the right balance.
“We are obviously delighted to have two wins and six points on the board, but we aren’t happy with how we have performed as a team.
“I have a talented set of players with humility and they are aware that they have not performed to the level they know they should be at.
“We have had some excellent analysis sessions and training has been superb.
“We are all focused on marrying our results with a West Bromwich Albion like performance.”
Blackburn have one point from their opening two games and Shan expects to face a solid side tonight.
“Blackburn are always a team who are really organised and who always prove to be really tough opposition.
“They work exceptionally hard and we will have to be on our game to get something.”
Admission prices are £5 adults, £1 concessions and free for both West Bromwich Albion and Tamworth season ticket holders.
