Stoke v Albion - Betting Preview from Freebets.com

27 August 2015

Baggies target back-to-back wins over Potters

ALBION go up against Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday (3pm ko) and Freebets.com take a look below at how the betting odds stack up against the stats.

Who Will Win?
The Britannia Stadium has been somewhat of a fortress for Stoke since winning promotion in 2008 but Albion have a better record at the venue than most. The Baggies have won one and drawn three of their last six visits and bookmakers may have underestimated their chances when compiling match odds.

888sport match odds currently sit at: 13/15 Stoke 17/5 West Brom 12/5 Draw

Best options on backing Albion to draw on the Double Chance market at 11/12 and it would be no surprise to see those odds shorten as matchday approaches.

Will There Be Goals?
Most of Stoke’s attacking play has come down the left where Erik Pieters and Marko Arnautovic operate. Containing this threat could be key to denying Xherdan Shaqiri and Mame Biram Diouf the chances upon which they thrive.

Albion have kept clean sheets in two of their last three visits to the Britannia and played out a goalless draw in this month's Barclays Premier League trip to Watford. Setting aside Sunday's five-goal thriller against Chelsea at The Hawthorns, indications are this is likely to be a low-scoring affair.

Best price for under 2.5 goals is 4/6 on BetVictor. We’ve suggest Albion have been underestimated and the Baggies to win 1-0 has a sporting chance at 10/1 on bet365, who will refund stakes as a free bet if the match ends 0-0.

Who Will Score?
Shaqiri and Diouf are Stoke’s danger men. Shaqiri made his debut against Norwich last week and provided an assist for Diouf in a 1-1 draw. The goal was Diouf’s second of the campaign and it was his brace that gave Stoke a 2-0 win in this fixture last season.

Salomon Rondon has yet to open his account for Albion and it is only a matter of time for the 25-year-old, who is a natural finisher. James Morrison scored both goals against Chelsea and another at Stoke will put him well on the way to beating his previous best of five goals in a season for Albion.

888sport first goalscorer odds: 7/2 Diouf, 13/2 Rondon, 13/2 Shaqiri, 12/1 Morrison.
